Terry Roland Hobbs, 62, of Sweetwater, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
Terry was born on September 11, 1959 in Sweetwater, to Jack Harvey and Marjorie Hobbs .Terry graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1977. He began his career in the plumbing business at a very young age, working for his father, and eventually opened his own business - Terry Hobbs Plumbing. There has been a Hobbs plumber in Sweetwater since the end of World War I I, and Terry had every intention of teaching his grandson Jaxon the trade, and the value of hard work.
The community will not only miss the excellent service Terry provided, but also his willingness to go above and beyond helping anyone in need. He was a genuinely good person, with a strong work ethic. Terry learned a lot from his dad, including his hard-headedness, determination, and his “never give up” attitude.
When Terry wasn’t working, he was either hunting or spending time with family and life-long friends. He was a caring and devoted father to the lights of his life, his daughters Lesli and Chelsi. He was a loving and involved grandfather, and a loyal uncle, brother, cousin, and friend.
Terry was an avid hunter from a young age, and he looked forward to the days he would teach Jaxon to hunt, and enjoy the outdoors as much as he did.
Terry is survived by his brother Gary Brown and wife Sue of Lampasas; daughter Lesli Bullard and husband Cade, and their son Jaxon of Crossroads; and daughter Chelsi Hobbs of The Colony. Terry is also survived by many cousins, nephews, a niece, and other close friends and family members: Kristin Baker and husband Matt; Brittney Phillips, husband Taylor and daughter Harlow Moncada; and Dallas Owens and wife Rebekah.
He is preceded in death by Dana Owens; parents, Jack Harvey and Marjorie Hobbs; grandparents, Harvey and Nola Mae Hobbs, and Carrie Bridges.
A graveside service will be held at 11a.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. Ryan Strebeck officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 6-8p.m. The family respectfully requests guests to wear masks when inside the funeral home.
