A. B. Alvarado, age 68, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 17, 2011 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Pauline Gaona.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church  with Rev. Michael Rodriguez officiating.  Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

A.B. was born on December 26, 1942 in Sweetwater, Texas to Miguel and Gregoria Alcala Alvarado. He married Arlene Moreno in 1962 in Loraine, Texas.   He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  He was a businessman, private investigator and bail bondsman for many years.  He owned and operated Alvarado Bail Bond.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Alvarado of Sweetwater; two daughters, Mikki Carey and husband Shane  of Fort Worth, Texas; and Victoria Lee of Sweetwater, Texas; two sons, Mike Alvarado and wife Alexandria of Sweetwater; and A.B. Alvarado, Jr.  and wife Elena of Brownsville, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; Bowie Lee, Candon Lee, Payne Alvarado Lee, Arlia Alvarado, Bianca Alvarado, Jarris Alvarado, Angelica Alvarado, Brittany Carey , Emily Carey, Mikey Alvarado, Chelsea Alvarado, Jordan Alvarado, Ray Alvarado and Destiny Jones Alvarado; four great grandchildren, Braxton Alvarado, Alexia Villareal, Aryanna Posada, and Isaiah Posada; two brothers, Al Alvarado and wife Lucy of Lompoc, California, and John Alvarado and wife Yolanda of Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters, Dora Flores and husband Art of Las Vegas, Nevada, Olivia Daniels and husband Russ of San Angelo, Becky Medina of Sweetwater and Christina Hernandez and husband Oscar of Sweetwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Gregoria Alvarado.

Pallbearers will be Oscar Hernandez, Jr., Adrian Medina, Adam Torres, Johnny Alvarado, Jr., Abelardo Jarius Alvarado, Bowie Lee, Gregory Alvarado, and Pamela Medina.

Honorary pallbearer will be Payne Alvarado Lee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 209 South Danville Drive, Suite B-107, Abilene, Texas 79605.
