Alice A. (Alcala) Gonzales

Alice A. Gonzales, age 93, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, September 16, 2013,  at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by  Lupe Medellin.                           .

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Okonkwo officiating.  Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Alice was born on November 5, 1919 in Sweetwater, Texas to Brijido Alcala, Sr.  and Andrea Alvarado Alcala.  She married Robert M. Gonzales in 1950 in Sweetwater, Texas.  She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Gonzales of Sweetwater, Texas; one daughter, Eva A. Gonzales, two sons, Robert A. Gonzales and George A. Gonzales and wife Wanda, all of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Alex Gonzales and wife JoAnn, Brian Gonzales, Rene' Townsend and husband Gary, Derek Gonzales and wife Amanda, and Lisa Gonzales; great grandchildren, Diego, Mia and Timothy Gonzales, Andrew and Santana Gonzales, Isiaha and Anthony Gongora, Gabriella Townsend, Sebastian, Jacob, Karli, and Marcus Gonzales, and Devin and J.P. Gutierrez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brijido and Andrea Alcala,  five sisters, Mary Ruth Alcala, Helen Alcala, Elvira Alcala Martinez, Gregoria Alcala Alvarado and Augustina Alcala Gutierrez and four brothers, Ramon Alcala, Brijido Alcala, Jr., Ralph Alcala and Jose Alcala.

Pallbearers will be Brian Gonzales, Derek Gonzales, Alex Gonzales, Andrew Gonzales, Anthony Gongora, and J. P. Gutierrez.

Honorary pallbearer will be Devin Gutierrez.
