Andrea L. Baucom, age 60, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 at her residence.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Andrea was born on December 13, 1950 to Thomas and Mary Lou (Boyett) Baucom. Andrea graduated as a Vocational Nurse in 1973 and worked at Simmons Memorial Hospital from 1973-l976. Andrea went to work for Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital when it opened in 1976. She graduated from the Mary Meek School of Nursing in 1981 as a Registered Nurse. In 1985, Andrea became a nursing supervisor and worked there until the time of her death. Andrea considered the staff of Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital her extended family.

To Andrea, family was the most important thing. She was fiercely loyal, generous, devoted and protective of those she loved.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Lou Baucom of Sweetwater, TX; three brothers, Stephen Baucom and wife Penny of Nolan, Tx; Forrest Baucom of Sweetwater, Texas; and Phillip Baucom of Ranier, Oregon; nieces and nephews, Heather Sanderson and husband James of Blackwell, TX; Stepheny Hardy and husband Shawn of Nolan, Texas; and Jori Trench and husband Floyd of Mertzon, Texas; and great nieces and nephews, Douglas Hardy, Drew Hardy, Halee Sanderson, Emilee Sanderson, Lilee Sanderson, and Shaylyn Trench and her extended family at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital Nursing Scholarship Fund.
