Andy Shipp

Andy Shipp, age 74, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Norton officiating. Burial will follow at Riverdale Cemetery in Kent County, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 5:30 - 7:00 P.M.

Andy was born on March 18, l946 to Earnest and Callie (Johnson) Shipp. He was Baptist. He worked as a butcher for Pace Packing, Village Supermarket, Winn Dixie and Thriftway in Rotan, Texas He had been a resident of Sweetwater for many years before moving to Rotan, Texas. He loved to go hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Shipp and wife Amy of Sweetwater, Texas, son-in-law, Alan Lackey of Abilene, Texas, grandchildren, Cody Lackey, Ashley Lackey Clairday, Aaron Shipp, and Stephen Shipp, four great grandchildren, brother, Winfred Shipp and wife Barbara K. of Lake Brownwood, Texas,  and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dailee Williams Shipp, daughter, Karla Shipp Lackey, his parents, Earnest & Callie Shipp, sister, Dorothy Fay Shipp Walden, brothers, Marvin Shipp, Harvey Shipp, Eugene Shipp, Dan Shipp, and Herschel Shipp.

Pallbearers will be David Shipp, Damon Shipp, Ryan Shipp, Cody Lackey, Aaron Shipp, and Stephen Shipp.
