Antonio B. Quintana

Antonio B. Quintana, age 95, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at his residence.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Monday, October 3, 2011 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel. recited by Carlos and Connie Rodriguez.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery.

Antonio was born on May 10, 1916 in Shafter, Texas to Antonio, Sr. and Teresa (Bustillos) Quintana. He was reared in the Big Bend Country, where as a very young boy he worked as a goat and sheep herder. On September 16, 1932, he along with his brother Jose, arrived in Mitchell County and began work on area farms in Loraine, Texas. He married Cecilia Santiago on November 15, 1936 in Loraine. He was a farmer and resident of the area west of Roscoe and Nolan County since 1935.

He is survived by sons, Rosalio S (Chale) Quintana and wife Margaret of Waxahachie, Texas; and Jose (Bill) S. Quintana of Roscoe, Texas; daughter, Eufelia Quintana of Roscoe, Texas; grandsons, Gregory Quintana and wife Robin, Edward Quintana and wife Ronda, Oscar Quintana and wife Charlene, granddaughters, Yvonne Schnebly and husband Jeffery, Ellie Mendez and husband David, Cynthia Bewley and husband Curry, great granddaughters, Monica Schnebly, Cecilia Martinez, and Blayke Bewley, great grandsons, Jeremy Quintana, Scott Quintana, Ryan Quintana, Colt Bewley, Anthony Bewley, Derek Bewley,and Bryan Mendez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio, Sr. and Teresa Quintana, wife, Cecilia Quintana, two sisters, Clara Q. Herrera and Rosa Quintana, and two brothers, Edward Conrado Quintana and Joe Quintana.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Vasquez, Ismael Vasquez, Manuel M. Herrera, Domingo Rangel, Felipe Hermosillio, Jose Guzman, David Quintana, and Catarino Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Fidel Vasquez and Manuel Santiago.
