Arthur Lee Pieper, age 92, of Inadale, Texas passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt McGowen officiating. Following the service, Arthur Lee will be laid to rest in Lone Wolf Cemetery next to his wife Annie. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Arthur Lee was born March 29, 1923 in Waco, Texas, the fifth child to Samuel Monroe Pieper and Myrtle Lee (Barnett) Pieper. His family relocated from Carlton, Texas to Roscoe, Texas in 1931 and to the Inadale community in 1932, where he lived the rest of his life. He graduated from Pyron I.S.D. in 1941, and was a Baptist. Arthur Lee married Annie Schulze on February 21, 1947 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a farmer and a steward of the land that he loved. Farming was not only his occupation but also his life. Arthur Lee served on several boards including Hermleigh I.S.D. school board, Inadale Coop Gin, and Scurry County Farm Bureau.
Daddy was a fair and honest man: thinking before he spoke, conservative in beliefs, and practiced good work ethics. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Daddy will always be remembered and remain in our hearts.
Survivors include his son, Robert Pieper and wife Jane, daughter, Sharon Jones all of Sweetwater, Tx; two grandchildren, Shane Jones and wife, Jenny of Cibolo, Tx; and Paige Wilks, and husband Jeremy of Sweetwater, Tx; six great-grandchildren, Pieper Jones, Kyndall Jones, Gavyn Cobb, Jax Watts, Vonnie Watts and Peyton Wilks. He is also survived by his sister, Jewel Harris, of Borger, Tx; two brothers, Carl Pieper of Clyde, Tx; and Travis Pieper and wife Virginia, of Odessa, Tx; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
Arthur Lee was preceded in death by his wife Annie Pieper, parents, Samuel Monroe Pieper and Myrtle (Barnett) Pieper, siblings, Orene Cummings, R.B. Pieper, Arnold Pieper, D.M. Pieper, Robert Duane Pieper, and Velma Nader.
