Barbara Ann (Armstrong) Mitchell

Barbara Ann Mitchell, age 84, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on December 18, 1938 in Sweetwater, Texas to Nathan Burl Armstrong, Sr. and Thealin (May) Armstrong.  She was a member of the Roscoe Church of Christ.  She worked for Lawrence Brothers as an accountant for many years before retiring.  She was a lifetime resident of Sweetwater, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Amy Mitchell of Sweetwater, Texas, son, Richard Mitchell and wife Ruby Ann of Sweetwater, Texas, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother, Raymond Armstrong, sister, Michele Jones and husband Mark, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan Burl Armstrong, Sr. and Thealin Armstrong, son, Michael K. Mitchell, and brother, Sonny Armstrong.
