Betty Ruth (Parsons) Rains

Betty Ruth Rains, age 83, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Betty was born on September 11, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to John R. and Alta Jessie (Middleton) Parsons. She married William Marlin Rains on August 16, 1952 in Sylvester, Texas. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Avondale Baptist Church. She loved gardening and her yard.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory Rains and wife Patricia of Trent, Texas, and Steven Linn Rains of Merkel, Texas, one daughter, Marla Rains Reddic and husband Homer of Sweetwater, Texas, six grandchildren, Brandon Rains, Jennifer Rains Larsen and husband Scott, Amy Rains Mann and husband Kevin, Genesis Reddic and wife Michelle, Scott Reddic and Tara Rains, four great grandchildren, Brycen Mann, Addi Larsen, Emmi Larsen and Ashton Scott Reddic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Marlin Rains, two brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Rains, Jennifer Larsen, Genesis Reddic, Scott Larsen, Kevin Mann and Amy Mann.
