Bettye (Jackson) Scott

Bettye Scott, age 68, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel  with Rev. Robert Carey officiating.  Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Bettye was born on April 8,, 1945 in Hubbard, Texas to R. K.. and Elvan (Smith) Jackson.  She married Eugene Scott, Sr. on April 22, 1965 in Sweetwater, Texas.  She worked for U.S. Gypsum for twenty two years before retiring.

Bettye  is survived by three daughters, Lynn Scott  and husband Ronald Glenn Jerrols of Houston, Texas; Cicley Scott  of Sweetwater, Texas, and  Mandy Diggs of Houston, Texas; four sons, Eugene Scott, Jr., Dominique Diggs and wife Danielle, Michael Diggs, Jr., and Staccee Diggs and wife Valerie; (5) grandchildren, Latasha Jerrols, Danyia Jerrols, Ronald Jerrols, Jr., Andriena Juarez, and Ashley Diggs, thirty one great grandchildren; god-daughter, Marilyn Hunt, and two sisters, Peggy Jackson, and Gloria Jackson-White and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.K. and Elvan Jackson, and her husband, Eugene Scott, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Joe Ed Franklin, L.T. Franklin, Steven Carter, Tanner Engel, Fabian Rainer, and T.C. Goodman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Scott, Jr., Dominique Diggs, Mike Diggs, Staccee Diggs.
