Beverly Ann (Mize) Jones
June 29, 1924 — July 16, 2014
Beverly Ann Jones, age 90, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 18, 2014 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Matt McGowan officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M..
Beverly was born on June 29, 1924 in Sioux City, Iowa to George and Marie (DeHarty) Mize. She was a bank teller for many years and worked at several banks. She also worked at Pioneer City County Museum for sixteen years and also mentored school children in the Sweetwater School District. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and several clubs, including BPW, Woman's Forum and Friends of the Library.
She is survived by two daughters, Becky Bay and husband Mike of Magnolia, Texas, and Susan Moon of Mercer Island, Washington, and two sons, George Moon and wife Delayne of Aloha, Oregon, and Glenn Jones and wife Peggy of Sweetwater, Texas; eleven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Marie Mize, husband, Alva A. Jones, brother, George Mize, Jr. and sister-in-law, Jeanette Mize.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pioneer City County Museum, 610 East 3rd Street, Sweetwater, Texas 79556 or American Diabetes Association, 12850 Spurling Drive, Suite 100, Dallas, Texas 75230.
