Billy (Bill) Thompson, age 84, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Von Atzigen officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Bill was born on October 8, 1928 in Eskota, Texas to E. H. and Minnie (Puckett) Thompson. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a self-employed farmer and rancher. He married Inge Hagn in Sept., 1987 in Robert Lee, Texas.
He is survived by his sister, Marjorie Thompson Broman of Houston, Texas, nephews, William H. Broman of Katy, Texas; John A. Broman of Houston, Texas; and Paul Broman of Houston, Texas niece, Karen Vlamis of Wichita, Kansas; step-son, David Sissom of Amarillo, Texas; and step-daughter, Irene Bell of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.H. & Minnie Thompson, wife, Inge Thompson, sister, Mary Jeannette Huffman and step-son, John Sissom.
Pallbearers will be William H. Broman, John A. Broman, Paul Broman, Loren Achenbach, Ted W.Vlamis, and Rex Mayfield.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6-8 P.M..
