Boyce Bowden Holley

Weatherford, Texas

Boyce Bowden Holley, age 87, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at his daughter's residence.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. to service time.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor J.T. Thornton officiating.  Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Weatherford, Texas.

Boyce was born on August 15, 1936 in Lometa, Texas to Clinton Thomas and Estelle Connie (Bowden) Holley.  He worked for Bell Helicopter for thirty three years before retiring.  Boyce was a United States Marine Corp veteran.  He was a member of The Gathering Church in Brock, Texas and also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Boyce was an active fisherman and took pride in his garden.  Being outdoors was his favorite place to be which gave him peace.  He loved his family and legacy was very important to him.  He was also an avid dog lover.  His family and friends lovingly called him by his nickname "Sambo".

He is survived by his son, Royce L. Holley and wife Judy of Hurst, Texas, daughters,  Connie G. Holley of Weatherford, Texas, Lisa Barton of Lubbock, Texas, and Allison Leap of Keller, Texas, his sister, Gail Ronemus of Sweetwater, Texas, grandchildren, Kassie Bell, Cody Brown, Julie Holley,  Micheal Holley, Carrie Oates, Rowdy Gilbert, Josh Gilbert, and Michael Gilbert, and great grandchildren, Dorian Holley, Kayden, Mattie, and Mazi Bell, Cameron and Lane Brown, Kyla, Shane, Mark and Parker Holley, Alex Herrera, Kinsey Oates, Jayden Rodriguez, Makayda, Mackenzie, Finn, Ryder, Michael and Olivia Gilbert, and numerous nieces and nephews, including Gary Ronemus and Julia Morrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton Thomas Holley, Estelle Connie Day, step-father, Gene Day, son, Mark Holley, sister, Gloria Puckett, brothers, E.J. Holley, Paul Holley, and Dub Holley, and his beloved dog,  Duke.

Pallbearers will be Cody Brown, Jacob Bell and Kayden Bell.
