Carolyn Kay Alexander, age 64, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Ward Hayes, Dr. Travis Monday and Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.
Carolyn was born on September 17, 1948 in Sweetwater, Texas to Ed and Kathryn (Milligan) Hobbs. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was assistant Vice-President of Texas National Bank. She married Doug Alexander on October 17, 1980 in Sweetwater, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Alexander of Sweetwater, Texas; two daughters, Tania Brown of Sweetwater, Texas, and Shelly Alexander of Chandler, Texas; son, Curt Alexander and wife Nikki of Midland, Texas; five grandchildren, Laney Wallace, Landry Brown, Stephanie Metcalf, Timothy Cantu, and Jackson Metcalf; brother, Eddy Hobbs of Bluffton, Texas; several nieces and nephews, including Meredith Hobbs and Matt Hobbs. .
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed & Kathryn Hobbs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carolyn Alexander Benefit Account at Texas National Bank or memorials to Lymphoma Research Foundation, 115 Broadway, Suite 1301, New York, New York 10006.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
