Charles "Chuck" Howard Mcdorman

Charles “Chuck” Howard McDorman, 68 of Sweetwater, TX joined his Heavenly Father along with his parents, Don & Wilma McDorman and Son In Law, Nicholas Williams on January 3, 2024 peacefully in his home.

A memorial service for Chuck will be held at 2PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at  Cate Spencer and Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Dusty Lovell officiating.   Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  In honor of Chuck, the family would like everyone to come casual and wear something red.

He was born in Coleman, Texas on June 7, 1955.  Chuck attended school in Coleman, Abilene and Sweetwater where he graduated in 1973 from Sweetwater High School as well as attending Texas Tech in Lubbock.

He worked several years assisting his Dad at the family furniture business, McDorman’s Furniture and Appliance as well as managing Radio Shack.
Chuck was one of the biggest hearted people you could ever meet.  If ever he considered you his friend, you never had to question his loyalty to you.  He enjoyed the simple things in life along with the occasional fast car such as his life long dream cherry red corvette and a motorcycle ride here and there on his beloved Harley Davidson.  Chuck also strongly valued and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family!

Chuck is survived by his daughters,  Layla Ornelas-McDorman and companion Rick of Hillsboro and Crystal McDorman Williams of San Antonio, grandchildren,  Peyton Atkins, Rian Hill, Ethan and Rhiannon Bledsoe & Mea and Mya McDorman Williams, his sister,  Kay Dalbert and husband David of Abilene, nephew,  Brandon Benbow and companion Chantel, niece, Bethany Purdun and husband Andrew, great nephews, Skyler and AJ and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chuck is also survived by his long time “brother”, Ernest “Chino” Melendez and his bonus daughter, Shirley Marie Gutierrez and bonus grandchildren, Toreyna, Layla and Tristan.
