Christina Salinas, age 55, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center.
A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Lupe Medellin. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 6, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Deacon Bill Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Christina was born on December 26, 1958 in Sweetwater, Texas to Alfonso and Ignasia (Espino) Gutierrez. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She married Armando Salinas on December 8, 1996 in Sweetwater, Texas. She worked at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital for fifteen years.
She is survived by her husband Armando Salinas, Sr. of Sweetwater, two sons, Louis Castillo and wife Kathy of Jacksonville, Texas and Thomas Castillo, Jr. and wife Laura of Sweetwater, daughter, Viviana Castillo of Everett, Washington, Step-children, Armando Salinas, Jr., Felicia Salinas, both of Sweetwater, four grandchildren, Marcus Castillo, Bianca Castillo, Nicholas Castillo and Stephanie Castillo, five sisters, Mary Ham of Sweetwater, Esther Castillo and husband Domingo of Sweetwater, Linda Medellin and husband Anselmo of Sweetwater, Gloria McFadin and husband Allen of Abilene, and Lupe Gutierrez of Sweetwater, six brothers, Romaldo Gutierrez, Pete Gutierrez and wife Rosa, Dolores "Lolly" Gutierrez and wife Mary, Sammy Gutierrez, and Robert Gutierrez, all of Sweetwater, and George Gutierrez and wife Lisa of Andrews, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso Gutierrez, Sr. and Ignasia "Nancy" Gutierrez, two brothers, Alfonso Gutierrez, Jr. and Arnulfo Gutierrez.
Pallbearers will be Mike Aguero, Domingo Castillo, Jr., Derek Gonzales, Brandon Cabrera, Ivan Gutierrez, and Alex Gonzales.
