Clara Mae (Bradley) Brown

CLARA MAE FLETCHER BROWN, age 97 of Roby, Texas passed away on April 24, 2011 in Rotan, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Roby Church of Christ with Jason Alton officiating.

Burial will follow at 1:30 P.M.,, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home of Sweetwater, Texas.

Clara was born on January 24, 1914 in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma to Mary Etta and W.T. Bradley.

She grew up in Rochester, TX. She met Olbert Fletcher while visiting a sister in Forsan, TX. and married him on Jan. 19, 1935. They resided in Forsan until his death in 1958. She worked at the Forsan School cafeteria until 1970 when she met and married Elvin A. Brown. Big Spring was their home until they moved to Sweetwater, where they resided until his death in 1993. In 1994, she moved to Roby until her stroke in 1998 when she was moved to a Rotan Long term care facility until her death.

She  is survived by 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.  Her Daughters are: Lela & Jim Porter of Abilene,  LoVelle & Freddie Stuart of Sylvester, and Sherrie Bordofske of Roby.  Grandchildren: Dana & Roy Hartstein, Brad & Glenna Stuart, Ellen & Randy Patterson, Britt and Lisa Stuart, David & Darla Bordofske, Alan & Keena Porter, & Terry & Lysette Bordofske.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Etta and W.T. Bradley; husbands, Olbert Fletcher in l958 and Elvin A. Brown in 1993; five brothers and five sisters.

Grandsons are pallbearers and will have a part in the service.
