Claude A. Brafford Speed, Jr.

Claude A. Brafford Speed, Jr., age 27, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 in Ector County, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Emmanuel Fellowhip Church with Pastor Loran Rule officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 31, 20l8 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Claude was born on May 10, 1991 in Snyder, Texas. He worked as a derrick hand for Robertson Drilling. He was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Marlyn Gage and husband Eithel of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter, Melony Speed of Sweetwater, Texas, two sisters, Jessica Parks and husband Clint of Sweetwater, Texas and Mary Gage of Sweetwater, Texas, three brothers, Eddy Gossett of Denton, Texas, Tommy Gage and wife Halie of Wichita Falls, Texas and David Crow and wife Melissa of Big Spring, Texas, grandparents, Sue and Melvin Burnett of Snyder, Texas, and Dwayne and Ruth Harbuck of Sweetwater, Texas, eight nieces and four nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude A. Brafford Speed, Sr.., grandparents, George Speed, and Dewey Calloway, aunt, Winnona Carol Evans, and nephew, Demarcus Gage.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Speed, David Cate, Tony Marquez (Fat Tony), Kelly Miller (Lucky), Brent Kelly (Spec), and Rick Jackson (Troll).

Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Willard (Fidget).
