Daniel "Dan" Rice

Daniel "Dan" Rice, age 67, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Norton officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Dan was born on May 1, 1950 in Sweetwater, Texas to Joe Maldon Rice, Sr. and Anna Jewell (Mahoney) Rice. He worked for U.S. Gypsum and was also a truck driver. Dan graduated from Newman High School in 1968. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by two brothers, Joe M. Rice, Jr. and Michael L. Rice, nieces, Julie Crowsey and Janet Sanders, nephews, Jeffrey Rice and Brandon Rice, and great nieces and nephews, Nathan Sanders, Keaton Sanders, Jacob Crowsey, Ashlyn Crowsey, Colton Crowsey, and Katelyn Crowsey.
