Dewey (Junior) Teel, age 85 of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 16,2015 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Dan Boren officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Dewey was born on November 27, 1929 in Sylvester, Texas to John W. and Alpha (Harkins) Teel. He married Doris Guelker on April 19, 1947 in Sweetwater, Texas. He worked for City of Sweetwater for forty seven years as Director of Public Works before retiring. He was a member of Roscoe Church of Christ. He was an avid trout fisherman who liked to fish in Red River, New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Teel of Sweetwater, Texas, three sons, Lynn Teel and wife Paula of Odessa, Texas; Barry Teel of Sweetwater, Texas and Jeff Teel of Blackwell, Texas; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Alpha Teel, one brother, Nawlin Teel and one sister, Willo Dean Teel.
