Edith Pieper, age 94, of Roscoe, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 507 Crane, Sweetwater, Texas, recited by Deacon Bill Butler.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 25, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 507 Crane, Sweetwater, Texas, with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Edith was born on December 5, 1922 in Hermleigh, Texas to Anton and Vlasta (Nesestra) Brom. She married D.M. Pieper on November 21, 1944 in Sweetwater, Texas. She was a homemaker. Edith was a member of the Altar Society at St. John Catholic Church in Hermleigh, Texas for many years. She loved her children and grandchildren and they were the center of her life. She loved to cook, was a great gardner and loved arts and crafts. Edith was her husband's help mate and right hand throughout their marriage. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish. She was a resident of Roscoe, Texas for fifty years.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Tiemann and husband Harold of Yorktown, Texas, son, Gary Pieper and wife Frances of Roscoe, Texas, grandchildren, Christopher Pieper and wife Stephanie, Amy Webb and husband Patrick, Jacob Tiemann and wife Timpy, Melody Tiemann, Nathan Tiemann and wife Joanna, seven great grandchildren, Evan Webb, Lincoln Tiemann, Aaron Webb, Reagan Tiemann, Hannah Tiemann, Harlan Tiemann, and Audrey Pieper, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton & Vlasta Brom, husband, D.M. Pieper, sister, Della Kubala, and nephew, Jimmy Kubala.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Pieper, Patrick Webb, Jacob Tiemann, Nathan Tiemann, Donnie Kubala, and Robert L. Pieper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Hernandez, Alton Martindale, and Harold Tiemann.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Parish Building Fund, 511 West Alabama Avenue, Sweetwater, Texas 79556.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Sweetwater Healthcare Center and their staff for their kindness and care for Edith.
