Edwin D. Ellison

Edwin D. Ellison, age 89, of Blackwell, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brandon Carreon officiating.  Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Edwin was born on December 2, 1934 in Sweetwater, Texas to Damon and Vera (Mize) Ellison.  He married the love of his life, Melissa Jane Elliott on November 23, 1952 in Sweetwater, Texas.  He worked as a self employed mechanic for many years before retiring.  He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Ellison of Blackwell, Texas, daughter, Ame Bennett and husband Terry of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter-in-law, Carol Ellison of Sweetwater, Texas, grandchildren, Brandy Thompson and husband Tony, Lori Kidd, Ashton Guelker and husband Craig, A.J. Monroe and Mark Monroe and wife Victoria, great grandchild, Kaitlyn Thompson, Keylan, Kyler, Karli Kidd, Karalyn Monroe, Kase Monroe, and Tyler, Trace, Craig, and Olivia Guelker, and great great grandchildren, Peyton Kendall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Damon & Vera Ellison, sons, Eddie Lee Ellison and Mark Dee Ellison, daughter, April Ellison, great grandson, Payton Lee Kidd, sister, Mary Kennedy and brother, Welton Ellison.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Ellison, Justin Ellison, A.J. Monroe, Mark Monroe, Tony Thompson, and Craig Guelker.
