E.L. (Dick) Davis

E.L. (Dick) Davis, age 94, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Graveside Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
E.L. was born on December 18, 1919 in Fisher County, Texas to Thomas B.and Goldie Ann (Sharrock) Davis. He married Martha Hudgins on April 17, 1979 in Sweetwater, Texas. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2000. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. He worked at Carmichael Ford as a mechanic for many years before retiring.
He is survived by two nephews, Kenneth Davis and wife Judy of Bosque, New Mexico,and J.E. Davis of Belen, New Mexico, five great nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Dorothy Merket and her family of Highland, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas B. and Goldie Ann Davis, wife, Martha Davis, and brother, L.B. Davis.
