Era Helen Cagle, age 86, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Jo Raymond Medrano officiating.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 A..M., Monday, February 28, 2011 at O'Donnell Cemetery in O'Donnell, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Era Helen Cagle was born in Borden County, Texas on January 12, 1925. She was given lots of love from her mom, Lovie Rains and her grandparents, Riley and Helen Rains. Helen Cagle became a very loving great-great grandma, called "Granny" by everyone. Helen married her husband Bernest W. Cagle on June 8, 1942 in Tahoka, Texas, and had two sons, Jammie Lewis Cagle and Larry Keith Cagle, Sr., both went to sleep in death before Helen. She worked as a farmer, carpenter, and waitress before retiring.
Despite having a stroke thirteen years ago, Helen had a very full life-concerts, movies and even getting her first passport at the age of 82 to travel to Old Mexico. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by grandchildren - Cindy Larsen and husband Roger of Sweetwater, TX ,Kathy Cagle, Lewis Dean Cagle, Jammie Lane Cagle, Scott Cagle of Sweetwater, TX; Larry Cagle, Jr. and wife Michelle of Tyler, TX, Shawn Sharrock, Wendy Gage, Fonda Balthrop, Tammy & Dwaine Miller and Missy Blackburn, great grandchildren, Jessica Aguirre and husband Albert of Snyder, Texas, Rayce Cagle, Faith Cagle, Cody Cagle, Tonia Bond, Seth and Skyla Cagle, and cousin, Venita Bledsoe of O'Donnell, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Lovie Graham, two sons, Jammie Lewis Cagle and Larry Keith Cagle, Sr., and grandson, Jason Cagle.
