Esteban M. Torrez

Esteban M. Torrez, age 90, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center.

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Okonkwo officiating.  Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery with the Nolan County Honor Guard.   Arrangements under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Esteban was born on November 26, 1922 in Sweetwater, Texas to Reyes and Rosa (Meneses) Torrez.  He married Juanita Segovia on March 23, 1947 in Sweetwater, Texas.  He worked for U.S. Gypsum for over thirty seven years in the Quarry Department.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Torrez; two sons, Joe Torrez and wife Lucy; and Frank Torrez, all  of Sweetwater; one daughter, Ofelia Gipson and husband Kerry of Ennis, Texas; eight grandchildren, Michael, Adrian, Fabian, Connie, Amy,  Khris,  Casare and Cindy; three great grandchildren, Steven, Ryan and Addie; and one great great grandchild, Nathaniel; one brother, Ben Torrez of Sweetwater, and two sisters, Cande Gomez of Sweetwater, Texas; and Isabel Argumaniz of Grand Prairie, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reyes and Rosa Torrez, two sons, Joe Torrez and Esteban Torrez, Jr., four brothers, and five sisters,

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
