Faye Howard Hanes
Our Beloved mother and grandmother, Faye Hanes, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on August 12, 2013.
Faye was born February 15, 1921 on the family farm outside Wingate, Texas to Oscar and Mae Howard. Faye married Aubrey A. Hanes and together raised 3 children at Welch, Texas.
Faye spent her life working and serving others, she loved to sew, cook and garden.
Faye was a member of South Plains Church of Christ where she participated in Silvertones Senior Adults and Pillow Ministry for Hospitalized Children.
Faye is survived by her children, Ima Lee Daniels of Lubbock, Keith Hanes (Judy) of New Braunfels, Randy Hanes (Vicky) of Sweetwater. 5 grandchildren: Jeanette Gurley (Steve) of Wolfforth, Cheryl Ramirez of Austin, Kevin Hanes (Amanda) of Georgetown, Kyle Hanes (Britany) of Lufkin and Aubrey Hanes of San Angelo. Great-grandchildren: David (Erin), and Jacob Gurley, Lauren, Olivia, and Emma Ramirez; Jake, Luke, and Johanna Hanes; brother Carl Howard (Velda) of Abilene, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Aub, sister Ruby Helm, brothers Buster, Allen, and W.T Howard.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 6 until 8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday August 15, 2013, at 11am at South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas. Arrangements under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas.
Graveside services will be held 4:30 P.M., Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Wingate Cemetery, Wingate, Texas under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Silvertones or the Pillow Ministry of South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock.
