Fidel A. Gutierrez, age 72, of Waianae, Hawaii, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 in a hospital in Hawaii.
A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Lupe Medellin.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 8, 2015, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bill Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery with the Fort Hood U.S. Army Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Fidel was born on July 7, 1942 in Sweetwater, Texas to Victoriano and Augustina (Alcala) Gutierrez. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He also worked as a refrigeration technician. He was a Catholic.
He is survived by three sons, Jaime F. Gutierrez of El Centro, California, Samuel F. Gutierrez of Kapolei, Hawaii and Raphael F. Gutierrez of Nanakuli, Hawaii, brothers and sisters, Carlos A. Gutierrez of Sweetwater, Texas, Primo A. Gutierrez and wife Maria Ester of Del Rio, Texas, Hector A. Gutierrez and wife Antonia of Lemoore, California, Jessie Efrain A. Gutierrez of Azle, Texas, Joe A. Gutierrez and wife Rosa of Houston, Texas, Irene G. Montemayor and husband Cruz of Sweetwater, Texas, and Olga G. Balderas and husband Fidencio of Sweetwater, Texas, five grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Gutierrez, Jaime Joseph Gutierrez, Vincent Gutierrez, Mika Gutierrez and Joshua Gutierrez, four great grandchildren, Isaiah, Angelina, Reyna, and Valerie and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victoriano and Augustina Gutierrez and wife, Janie Flores Gutierrez.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Balderas, Edward Gutierrez, Martin Gutierrez, Cliff Montemayor, Roland Gutierrez, and Victor Gutierrez.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessie Gutierrez, Ruben Gutierrez, Luis Gutierrez, Juanito Gutierrez and Joey Gutierrez.
