Frances Wheeler, age 86, of Borger, Texas, (Longtime resident of Sweetwater, Texas) passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in Borger, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Yandell officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
Frances was born on October 26, 1929 in Frisco, Texas to Thomas and Bertha (Brewer) Yandell. She had been a resident of Sweetwater since 1947. She graduated from Newman High School in Sweetwater, Texas. She married Gene Wheeler on November 11, 1949 in Sweetwater, Texas. She worked at both Texas Bank and Trust and First National Bank as a bookkeeper, Simmons Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide and in Central Supply and Sweetwater Healthcare Center as a nurses's aide. She was a longtime member of Lamar Street Church of Christ. She loved baking, making candy and playing games, especially Yahtzee.
Nothing brought her more happiness than being with her grandson, Stephen. They shared a special bond.
She is survived by her son Ranny Wheeler and his wife Melba of Sweetwater, Texas, daughter Carla Sable and her husband Brad of Borger, Texas, grandson, Stephen Sable and his wife Tami of Kyle, Texas, two great grandsons, Logan and Nathan Sable, step-granddaughter, Lisa Boehm and her husband Jeffrey of Rockwall, Texas and step-great granddaughter, Rebecca Boehm , sister, Cora Mulanax and her husband Hoyt of Sweetwater, two brothers, Clinton Yandell and his wife Nancy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Jessie Yandell of Watauga, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Bertha Yandell, her husband, Gene Wheeler, five brothers, Harold Yandell, Alton Yandell, Thomas Yandell, Benton Yandell and Roy Yandell, and one sister, Audrey Walden.
Pallbearers will be family members.
