Gary Hollis, age 62, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
His body was cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Chapel with Jeanie Williams of Saint James UMC in Abilene, TX officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Gary was born on March 3, 1951 in Abilene, Texas to E.H. (Bill) and Idella Joan (Sample) Hollis. He married Brenda K. White in 1980 in Anchorage, Alaska. He worked as a musician for many years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. His family was the joy of his life. A humble, generous man whose love for all was evident. He was a lifetime musician, enjoyed golf, and showed boundless love for his grandbabies.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda K. Hollis of Sweetwater; six children; Ryan Moore and husband Mitch of Sweetwater; Kris Hollis and wife Christine of Sweetwater; Lori Gutierrez and husband Daniel of Snyder; Staci Rosas and husband Jacinto of Sweetwater; Michael Hollis and wife Amanda of Abilene, Texas; and Natalie Hollis; eleven grandchildren; Payton, Alyson, Zackary, Makayla, Evalyn, Daniel, Angel, Ayden, Amariz, Averi and Amelia; one brother, Kenny Hollis and wife Brenda D. of Abilene; and Deb Lopez of Abilene, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.H. (Bill) and Idella Joan Hollis and one daughter, Jessica Lynn Hollis.
