Gary Arlen Weaver

Gary Arlen Weaver, age 83, of Breckenridge, Texas (Former resident of Lubbock, Texas), passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater, Texas.

As per his wishes, his body was donated for medical research.  A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Elliott Street Church of Christ in Breckenridge, Texas with Mickie McKandles officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home, Sweetwater, Texas.

Gary was born on November 20, 1930 in Southland, Texas to Ronald and Nona (Reed) Weaver.  He married Madge Yvonne Hardin on August 19, 1951 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  He was a  U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Elliott Street Church of Christ of Breckenridge, Texas.  He spent most of his life as a gin manager in Enochs, Crosbyton, Seminole and Owens, Texas.  He also served as general manager of Continental Murray Gin Machinery in Lubbock, Texas.  He built cotton gins in Louisana, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Mexico.

He is survived by his son, Edward Weaver and wife Virginia of Breckenridge, Tx; daughter, Charlene Lynette Morrison and husband Frank of Lubbock, Texas; four grandchildren, Matt Weaver and wife Brittany of Sweetwater, TX, Heidi Schlemmer and husband Scott of Sweetwater, Texas; Jace Weaver and  wife Andromache  of Keller, Texas; and Will Morrison and wife Lindsey of New Orleans, Louisiana; six great grandchildren, Mabry, Marly, and Maryn Weaver, Eden  and Bryn Schlemmer and Tyler Morrison; three sisters, Joyce Williams of Amarillo, Texas; Helen Williams and husband Don of Ulysses, Kansas, and Janette Scarborough and husband Jerry of Phenix City, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Nona Weaver, and wife, Madge Weaver.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ciudad de Angels, 5240 Roswell Rd. NE, Marietta, Georgia 30062.
