Glenn Russell Imken

Glenn Russell Imken, age 81, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Hendrick South in Abilene, Texas. 

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from l:00 - 2:00 P.M.

Graveside services will be held 2:30 P.M., Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Palava Cemetery, Fisher County, Texas,  with Pastor Carter Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. 

Glenn was born on April 21, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas to Edwin Henry and Edna Pauline (Schlueter) Imken. He married Deloris Nell Sutton on January 9, 1962 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He taught machine shop at Sweetwater High School and TSTI. Later he owned and operated his own insurance agency and was a financial advisor. Glenn loved fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, trap shooting, and to barbecue. 

He is survived by his son, Russell Don Imken and wife Nancy of Gary, Texas; daughter, Frances Kathleen (Kathy) Posey and husband Bill of Manassas, Virginia; grandchildren, Emily Brown and husband Chris, Samantha Freeman and husband Jon, and Chelsi Hay and husband Paul; great grandchildren, Hudson Brown, Allison Grace Imken, and Kennedy Freeman. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Edna Imken, wife, Deloris Nell (Sutton) Imken, and grandson, Russell Colby Imken. 

Pallbearers will be Terry Owens, Jim Bob Giddens, Cody Giddens, Bill Morris, Gunner Giddens, Brett Johnson, Kirk Kirkland, and Terry Scherwitz.
