Gordon Burklow

Gordon Burklow, age 79, of Rotan, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at  Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Acevedo officiating. Burial will follow at Nolan Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 5:00 - 6:00 PM.

Gordon was born November 6, 1937 in Barnhart, Texas to John Ewing and Maggie LaVena (McLaughlin) Burklow. He married Connie Breland on May 25, 1959 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was a fireman with the Hobbs Fire Department in Hobbs, New Mexico for over twenty one years. He had been a resident of Hobbs, New Mexico for a number of years, then moved to Nolan, Texas for twenty one years and a Fisher County resident for the last eleven years. He was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Rotan, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Burklow of Rotan, Texas, two daughters, Dorene Sword and husband Wylie of Lubbock, Texas, and Dawn Frazier and husband Roy of New Braunfels, Texas, four grandchildren, Heather Marie Dickson, Tori Riser, Ryan Sword, and Cassandra Sword, one great grandchild, Karlee Blake Riser, and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leon (Slim) Burklow and Jake Burklow.

Pallbearers will be Wylie Sword, Roy Frazier, Ryan Sword, Zach Riser, Bobby Kiefer, and Josh Moreno.
