Harold "Skip" Glenn Sohrweid

Harold "Skip" Glenn Sohrweid, age 71, of Big Spring, Texas, (Former resident of Colorado City, Texas), passed away on Thursday, February l8, 2021 at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home.

Per his wishes, his body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Hills officiating. Entombment of cremains service will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Texas with the U.S. Marine Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Skip was born on October 2, 1949 in Kearney, Nebraska to Ervin William August and Naomi (Fuss) Sohrweid. He served in the United States Marines for twenty six years and during his service he received four purple hearts. He owned and operated an appliance repair business for many years. He was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sweetwater, Texas. Skip was very active in his church, serving on the Church Council and as a Elder. He also led worship services for years at the nursing home in Colorado City, Texas. He had been a resident of Colorado City for over twenty years moving from Kerrville, Texas. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Purple Heart, and American Legion.

He is survived by his brother, Roger Sohrweid and wife Linda of Northglenn, Colorado, daughter, Tiffany Sohrweid Parham of Brunswick, Maine, son, Shane Sohrweid and wife Susan of Erie, Pennsylvania, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin William August Sohrweid and Naomi Sohrweid, and brother Bradley Saum.
