Jack A.C. Kummerow

December 25, 1931 — April 23, 2015

Jack A. C. Kummerow, age 83, of Sweetwater, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 27, 2015 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Crowley officiating.  The family will have a private burial at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Jack was born December 25, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio to Chester August Kummerow and Mary Helen (Connolly) Kummerow.  He married Jo Anne Soncha October 11, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio.  Jack was a veteran of the U. S. Army ( Specialist 3rd Class).  He retired from Ingram School District as a maintenance director prior to his move to Texas.  Jack's first wife passed away and he married Jane L. Harbour, July 8, 1995, in Kerrville, Texas.    Jack moved back to Texas in 1982 and to Sweetwater since 2004.  He and his wife Jane were active members of Fourth and Elm Church of Christ.  He worked for Ludlum Measurements for several years before he retired.

He is survived by his wife Jane Kummerow of Sweetwater, Texas;  children, Jack Kummerow II, and his wife Sharon, of Big Sandy, Tennessee;  Judy Yingling, and husband Lynn of Lakeland, Florida;  Jeff Kummerow, of Lakeland, Florida; and Jan Planten, and husband David of Rosamond, California;  Stepchildren, Leigh Ann Freeman, of Abilene, Texas; Joe Linn McGlothin, and wife Mary of Aspermont, Texas;   Leslie Brazelton, and husband Billy of Trent, Texas;  sister, Shirley J. Binns, of Toledo, Ohio. Grandchildren, Kristy Broman and husband Adam, Jason Kummerow, Edward Yingling, Sarah Yingling, Thomas Yingling, Michael Planten,and Zachary Planten.  Stepgrandchildren, Amber Freeman, Stacy Freeman and husband Casey, Toby Freeman, Christopher McGlothlin, Brad Brazelton and wife Ashleigh, Brittney Brazelton and fiance Daniel Robinson, numerous great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Jo Anne Kummerow.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory, Abilene, Texas 79601.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 6:00-7:30 P.M.
