Jacqueline Rhea (Lewis) Jobe, age 91, of Laguna Hills, California, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Nolan Baptist Church with Rev. Vic Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Nolan Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Jacqueline was born on March 26, l926 in Nolan, Texas to Arthur Bishop and Mary Elizabeth (Rape) Lewis. She graduated from Divide High School in 1944 and went to work for Western Union, first in Wichita Falls, and then in New Orleans, Louisiana, Washington, D.C., New York, New York, and San Francisco, California. She married Jonathan E. Jobe on September 17, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her son, Jonathan E. Jobe, Jr., was born April 7, 1948, in Oakland, California. After her son started school, she went back to work for Western Union in San Diego, California. Later, she worked as head cashier for Dean Witter and Co., in San Diego, California, until she retired. In 1986 she and her husband moved from the San Diego area to Abilene, Texas. At the end of 2013, she moved back to California.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Jobe, Jr. and wife Julee of Oceanside, California, granddaughter, Melanie Muenchinger and husband Paul of Austin, Texas, grandson, Paul Jobe of Pflugerville, Texas, and great grandsons, Jonathan Muenchinger and William Muenchinger of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan E. Jobe, parents, Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Lewis and sister, Vivian Wallace.
