James Parks Gilmore

August 18, 1957 — November 4, 2012

James Parks Gilmore, age 55, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at First Apostolic Tabernacle with Josh Boiles, Rev. Freddy Gillentine, Joseph Gillentine, and Kevin Glasgow officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at  Pyron Cemetery.

James was born on August 18, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas to Douglas Parks Gilmore and Jacquelyn Pearl (Nash) Gilmore.  He worked as a truck driver for many years.  He was a Baptist.  He married Ada Kathryn "Kathy" Gillentine on Sept. 25, 1976, in Abilene, Texas He spent his childhood in California and had been a resident of Sweetwater, Texas for over 35 years.  He also lived in Doyline, Louisiana and Brownwood, Texas.  He was a loving husband, father,  grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife, Ada Kathryn "Kathy" Gilmore of Sweetwater, Texas; five daughters, Patricia Glasgow and husband Kevin of Sweetwater, TX; Billie Anglin and husband Brandon of Bangs, Texas; Jamie Mathews and husband Brad of Stonewall, Louisiana; Tara Boiles and husband Josh of Sweetwater, Texas; and Jennie Gilmore of Sweetwater, Texas; six grandchildren, Tyler Anglin, Braeden and MacKenzie Mathews, Jaxon Gilmore, and Addyson and Randyn Boiles; sister - Kathy Gilmore and husband James Struble; brother, Kirk Gilmore and wife Hiromi; niece, Johnnie Latham, nephews, Jordan Latham, Tanner, Kataro and Kyosuke Gilmore, and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents - Jacquelyn Pearl Nash Gilmore and Douglas Parks Gilmore, brother, Carl Gilmore and grandson, Stanley Glasgow.

Pallbearers will be Alan McGowan, Malcom Kill, Pat Bromley, Steve Parker, Stacey Rains, Rusty Hobbs, Donald Hill, and Primo Gutierrez.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 7, 2012   from  6-8 PM,

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory, Abilene, Texas 79601.
