James David Kamer, age 38, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 10, 2023 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lester Cavitt and Assistant Pastor Clint Appling officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M.
James was born on February 17, 1985 in Sweetwater, Texas to Samuel David and Beverly Diane (Clark) Kamer. He was a Christian. He worked for Mahaffey Construction. He learned to work on cars in high school in auto mechanics. He worked as an auto mechanic supervisor for a company that painted and repaired cars. He just started learning how to weld and found out he really enjoyed it. He also loved to build things.
He is survived by his father, David Kamer of Sweetwater, Texas, sister, Megan Rene McCain and husband Reece of Sweetwater, Texas and brother, Jeremy Shelton Kamer of Pontiac, Michigan, grandparents, Samuel Lee and Carlene Kamer, and Roger Clark, all of Sweetwater, Texas, two nieces, Lyndsay Mc Cain and Farryn McCain, aunts and uncles, David & Melissa Clark of Sweetwater, Texas, Jaime Shirlene Glasgow of Tennessee and Dan & Angela Roth of Toledo, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Diane Kamer, and grandparents, Jimmy and Lavona Kamer.
Pallbearers will be Bob Keleman, Rodney Keleman, Matthew Hall, Patrick Watson, Christopher Kamer, and Alex Jackson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Mitch Burrows.
