Janice (Rowlett) Gesin

Janice (Rowlett) Gesin, age 80, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023  surrounded by her family.

Per her wishes, her body will be cremated.  No services are planned at this time.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Janice was born on September 1, 1943 in Sweetwater, Texas to James Vernon and Linnie Merle (Tuttle) Gillenwater.  She married Jim Gesin on December 23, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada.   After graduating from the University of Texas of Tyler,  she started working as a social worker for MHMR and worked for them for many years.  She then worked at Ludlum's.  She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church.  Janice was also a member of ABWA, Presbyterian Women, Elder of First Presbyterian Church, and a Board of Director of Sweetwater Housing Authority.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Gesin of Sweetwater, Texas, son, Matthew Gesin and wife Heather of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, daughter, Michelle Boswell of Sweetwater, Texas, grandchildren, Claire, Callie, & Ethan Boswell and Emerson Gesin, and brother, Richard Rowlett and wife Carol of Lufkin, Texas, and  sister-in-law,  Donna Rowlett of Fort Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Vernon Gillenwater, mother, Linnie Merle Rowlett, step-father who raised her, Harlan Rowlett, and brother, Mike Rowlett.
