Jimmie J. Apel

Jimmie J. Apel, age 77, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene, Texas.

Per his wishes, his body will be cremated.  No services are planned at this time.  Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Jimmie was born on October 15, 1945 in Fostoria, Ohio to Joel Henry and Marceil June (Hade) Apel.  He worked as an executive director for USDA for many years before retiring.  He was a United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Apel of Burleson, Texas, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Karen Brown of Sweetwater, Texas, nephew, Trevor Brown  & wife Sarah of Billings, Montana, and great nephews, Liam, Nolan, and Asher Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Lynda S. Apel.
