Jimmy R. Driver, age 81, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Roby Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 9:30 A.M., to service time.
Jimmy was born on January 27, 1940 in Rotan, Texas to Raymond and Voncille (Armstrong) Driver. He married the love of his life Peggy Appling on June 26, l959 in Rotan, Texas. He was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. He worked for Texas Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Post Office for many years before retiring. He was well known for his famous peanut patties.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Driver, his son, Craig Driver and wife Kelly of San Angelo, Texas, grandson, Cody Driver and wife Jillian of San Angelo, Texas, two great grandsons, Knox Driver and Kane Driver, brother, Tommy Driver and wife Shirley of Roby, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Voncille Driver.
Pallbearers will be Les Hardin, Ken Foster, Chuck McCord, Don Ware, Don Grubbs, and Rusty Moore.
