Jimmy Wayne Rogers

Jimmy Wayne Rogers, age 79, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Hendrick Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Ensminger officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery with the U.S. Naval Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born on November 27, 1938 in Clyde, Texas, to Carl and Mary Ester (Giesler) Rogers. He married Judy Carolyn Williams. He was a welder and worked for A& A Welders, in Midland, Texas for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Friedmeyer, and husband Marty of Festus, Missouri, step-son, Cody Rogers of Festus, Missouri, brother, Larry Rogers of Midland, Texas, sister, Sharon Rotan and husband Jerry of San Angelo, Texas. grandchildren, Julia, Robin, and Cruz (Olivia), Stacie (Travis), Mallory (Tyler ) and Luke, great grandchildren, Cruz, Autumn, Colton, and Kimber, and several nieces and nephews, including Teresa Garrett, Donna Rotan Velez, Bonnie Smith, Dottie Gossett, Brenda Rogers, Laura Rogers, and David Rotan, and special sister-in-law, Janiece Berry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Rogers, his parents, Carl and Mary Rogers, his sister, Eddie Pearl Gossett, and an aunt, Ann Gelazis.

Pallbearers will be Eithel F. Gage, Tommy J.D. Gage, Eddy A. Gossett, John D. Smith, David M. Williamson, and Cruz M. Aguirre.
