Jose Angel (Joe) Alcala, age 57, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2018 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
A Rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Emilia Acevedo.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 15, 2018 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Tony Lara officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Joe was born on April 12, 1960 in Sweetwater, Texas to Brigido A. , Jr. and Maria (Vasquez) Alcala. He was a Catholic He was a lifetime resident of Sweetwater, Texas.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Alcala of Sweetwater, Texas, brother, Daniel Alcala , sister, Elpidia Alcala , nephew, Timothy Alcala , niece, Christina Alvarez, several cousins, including, Irene Montemayor and husband Cruz, Olga Balderas and husband Fedencio, Jr., and Delfina Balderas, all of Sweetwater, Texas and special friend, Gary Olyer.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Brigido A. Alcala, Jr. and his nephew, Conrad Alvarez.
