Jose E. Castillo, age 94, of Roscoe, Texas, passed Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
A Rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at St. Albert's Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Jose was born on May 6, 1916 in Las Canoas, SLP, Mexico to Artemio and Carmen Castillo. He married Ascension Vitales on January 10, 1969 in Rayon, SLP, Mexico. He was a life long farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Ascension V. Castillo of Roscoe, Texas; six daughters, Janie Smith of Snyder, Texas; Leonor Ortega of Sweetwater, Texas; Rebecca Murphy of Frisco, Texas; Vickie Simpson of Snyder, Texas; Elizabeth Taylor of Lewisville, Texas; and JoAnna Lee of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one brother, Salvador Gutierrez of Las Canoas, SLP, Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Artemio and Carmen Castillo; and one sister, Socorro Castillo.
Pallbearers will be Robert Ortega, Michael Murphy, Russell Smith, Jackie Simpson, Cameron Taylor and Jared Lee.
