Jose (Joe) Quintana, age 91, of Roscoe , Texas died on Sunday,

May 16, 2010 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital

A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M. , Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Cate-Spencer &

Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Carmen Herrera

Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 19,

2010 at St. Albert ’s Catholic Church in Roscoe , Texas with Rev. Michael

Rodriguez officiating

Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery with the Nolan County Honor Guard

under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home

He was born March 19, 1919 in Brewster County , Texas . He married Martina

Santiago on November 24, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loraine , Texas .

He was a farmer and also worked for RS&P Railroad for many years. He later

worked for TSTC & Roscoe ISD. He was a member of St. Albert ’s Catholic

Church. He was also a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army and

received several decorations.

He is survived by his wife Martina Quintana of Roscoe , Texas ; (1) Son – Daniel

Quintana of Roscoe , Texas ; (2) Daughters – Teresa Carrillo of Abilene , Texas ,

and Alicia Tavarez of Snyder , Texas ; Brother – Antonio B. Quintana of Roscoe,

TX; (3) Grandchildren - David Quintana of Fort Hood , Texas , Jennifer Carrillo

Of Abilene , Texas , and Danny Gutierrez of Snyder , TX ; (8) Great Grandchildren-

Ashley Quintana, Zachary Quintana, Cayden Quintana, Luke Quintana, Octavia

Carrillo, Jaryn Talmadge, Jasyn Talmadge, and Arianna Padilla, and Several

Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Antonio & Teresa Quintana, (2)

Sisters – Clara Q. Herrera and Rosa Quintana, and (1) brother – Edward

Conrado Quintana.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Quintana, Daniel Gutierrez, Oscar Quintana, Gregory

Quintana, Adolfo Herrera, and George Herrera.

Honorary Pallbearers will be David Quintana, Jose Luis Herrera, Victor Herrera,

Eddie Herrera, John Munoz, Marcelino Munoz, Jr. and Jose Guzman.
