Josefa (Josie) (Martinez) Valenzuela

Josefa (Josie) Valenzuela, age 92, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raul Ortiz of Fort Worth officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Josefa was born on May 10, 1920 in Sweetwater, Texas to Manuel and Beatrice (Dominguez) Martinez. She was a homemaker. She married Carmen Valenzuela in l934. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Valenzuela and wife Seferina; Benny Valenzuela and wife Mary; Salvador Valenzuela and wife Isabel, and David Valenzuela and wife Elizabeth; four daughters, Elida Gutierrez and husband Frank, Anita Ortega and husband Francisco, Beatrice Cave and husband Johnny, and Minnie Cortez and husband Buddy, all of Sweetwater, Texas; thirty seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and two brothers, Refugio Reyes and Heriberto Paz, both of Del Rio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel & Beatrice Martinez; her husband, Carmen Valenzuela;, one daugher, Irene Rodriguez; three sons, Ramon, Mike and Rey Valenzuela; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Frank Gutierrez, Jr., Samuel Betancourt, Andrew Montoya, Mark Betancourt, Leonor Ortega, Rey David Valenzuela, Emilio Valenzuela, and Jacob Valenzuela.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ruby Montoya, and Crispin Betancourt.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
