Katherine Sue (Kathy) (Williams) Shirley

Katherine Sue (Kathy) Shirley, age 77, of Plainview, Texas (former resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Lamar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Norton officiating. Burial will follow at Coffee Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M..

Katherine was born on December 11, 1940 in Weatherford, Texas to James Albert and Esmel J. (Harmon) Williams. She married Glen Gaylon Shirley on October 31, 1957 in Putnam, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church. She was also a member of BPOE Does.

She is survived by her three sons, Glen L. Shirley and wife Lora of Casper, Wyoming, Joe W. Shirley and wife Pam of Plainview, Texas, and Scott Shirley and wife Terrye of Midland, Texas, eleven grandchildren, Stephen Shirley and wife Janelle, Amanda Shade and husband John, Megan Shade and husband Robert, Drew Shirley and wife Mandee, Blake Shirley, Katie Schafer and husband Daniel, Stetson Shirley, Suede Shirley, Brooke Gorman, Bailey Gorman, and Crystal McDorman, and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Esmel Williams, husband Glen G. Shirley, brother, Jim Williams, and sister, Joyce Rummley.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
