Linda Lanette Fege, age 66, went home to the Lord on Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Arlington, Texas surrounded by family.
Funeral Services will be at Normandy Avenue Church of Christ in Sweetwater, Texas on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Mike Ensminger officiating. Burial will follow at Slater’s Chapel Cemetery.Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M.. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Linda was born December 21, 1945 in Sweetwater, Texas to Chester and Martha Scarborough. She grew up in Sweetwater and fondly recalled family outings and playing with cousins. Linda met her lifetime partner Chris Fege in 1965 and they were married on January 11, 1967 in Abilene, Texas. The new couple moved to Arlington, Texas shortly thereafter and started their family. She worked for Johnson & Johnson and later for the Arlington Independent School District.
Linda’s favorite pastimes included meeting with family and friends, studying her Bible and listening to Christian music as well as teaching the Word of God to her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ for the past 27 years. She always looked forward to her Ladies’ Bible Class on Tuesday mornings and helping with the food bank at North Davis Church of Christ. Everyone will always remember the twinkle in her eye, warm smile, and caring nature.
She is survived by her husband Chris Fege of Arlington, Tx; two children, Brian Fege of Fort Worth, Tx, and Joanna Wood and husband Dameon of Arlington, Tx; four grandchildren, Christopher Mays, Dylan Mays, Parker Mays, and Ethan Wood; one brother Marvin (Buddy) Scarborough of Arlington, Tx; and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Edna Scarborough, and brother Arvin (Sonny) Scarborough.
