Linda Leigh Hobbs, age 46, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Avondale Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.  Arrangements are under to the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Linda was born August 8, 1964 in Sweetwater, Texas to Harroll and Sue Hobbs.  She lived in Sweetwater for eighteen years.  She was a cheerleader all through school, on the student council  and many other clubs and activities.  She tried to make the best of everything.  She worked for Joe Liner's Clothing Store, Bealls, Hamlin National Bank and also as church secretary.  She graduated in 1982 from Sweetwater High School.  After graduation, she moved to Abilene and worked for American Eagle Airlines.  Then in 1992, she moved to Midland and got engaged to the love of her life, Danny Cantrell which they have been together for eighteen years.  She graduated from Midland College with a degree in executive secretary.  She had been sick, in and out of the hospital since the age of 8 being diagnosed with brittle diabetes.  She was blessed with a kidney and pancreas transplant on June 6, l995.  She fought a battle with all the anti-rejection medicine and suffered severe osteoporosis arthritis.  She fought a hard battle with depression and when her kidney failed, she was ready to go to be with Our Lord and Savior.  She especially loved and appreciated her very special Mom and Dad that was by her side through everything.  They meant the world to her and was always there when she needed them.  She loved her partner in life, Danny, who waited on her hand and foot.

She is survived by her parents, Harroll and Sue Hobbs, sisters, Vicki Scott and husband Paul of Vernon, Texas; Tammy Knowles and husband Jerry of San Angelo, Texas; and Pamela Butler and husband John of Nashville, Tennessee; one brother, Ricky Moeller of Lyles, Tennessee; love of her life, Danny Cantrell of Sweetwater, Tx and his children, Jennifer Cantrell, Jessica Bajo and husband Chad, Misty Duggins and husband Johnny, Danielle Cantrell, and Daniel Cantrell and wife Rainey; her beloved pets, Katy, Sissy, Susie, Gracie (Tootsie) and Mercy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nathan and Lena Turner and H.H. and Nola Mae Hobbs and one brother, Harroll Roland Hobbs, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Cantrell, Dell Zetzman, Nate Scott, Sam Knowles, Jake Knowles, Landon McCluskey, and Terry Hobbs.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 P.M.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Larry Melton, Dr. David Nesser, Dr. Fred Kassis, Dr. Luther Martin, Dr. Lufkin Moses, Baylor Hospital, Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital, and all of the nurses and especially to Dallas Transplant Institute.

In lieu of flowers, Linda and her family requests that everyone sign up as an organ donor to give someone that special gift of life.
