Linnie W. Adams, age 97, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 17, 2025 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Flores officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Linnie was born on April 1, 1927 in Copperas Cove in Coryell County, Texas to Charlie Webster Taylor and Linnie Mae (Jones) Taylor. She graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1945. She was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church and taught Dorcas Sunday School Class for several years. She owned and managed "Tiger Mobile Park" for twenty three years.
She is survived by her son, Larry T. Adams and wife Brenda of Reno, Texas; son-in-law, Johnny Hanshew of Aledo, Texas; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie & Linnie Taylor; husband, Melvin V. Adams; longtime companion, Ewell E. (Red) Snowden; daughter, Lynetta Hanshew; sister, Sarah Frances Jones; brothers, Charlie Taylor, Jr. and Don Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Cory Stroman, Kevin Shipp, Donald Kite, Jimmy Davis, Randy Hanes, and Cody Andrews.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Ricky Hanshew, Ronnie Hanshew, Cory Adams, and Phillip Counts.
