Lola (Pike) Mcdonald

May 30, 1930 — February 20, 2011

CORPUS CHRISTI -- Lola Pike McDonald passed away peacefully at the age of 80 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 , in Corpus Christi , TX surrounded by her loving family. After moving from Sweetwater, Lola lived in Fort Worth , TX for many years and later in Portland , TX with her daughter.
Service: Her body was cremated. A Private graveside service will be held in Sweetwater , TX on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Sweetwater Cemetery . Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Memorials: The family requests that donations be made in Lola's name to Zonta Club of Fort Worth Foundation, P.O. Box 126344 , Fort Worth , Texas 76126 .

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Pike Baugh and Joseph Albert Pike, and her beloved niece, Linda Thurman. Lola managed Southern Products Furniture Co. in Fort Worth for many years, and worked for Metro Blueline in Hurst . She was a member and past president of Zonta Club of Fort Worth and the Cinco Chapter of ABWA in Fort Worth .
Lola was a caring and giving person and was loved by all who knew her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring staff of TriSun Westwood,
Corpus Christi for the wonderful care and compassion showed to Lola.
Survivors: Her loving daughter, Janette Dunn and husband Terry of Portland; TX, her sister, Dorthy Martin and husband Anson of Hermleigh; brother, Thomas J. Pike and wife Francis of Mount Pleasant; nieces, Sue Bond and husband Les and Karin Martinez; nephews, Carl, Richard and Mike Martin; grandchildren, Jessica Jorgensen and husband Jasen; Melissa and Julia Dunn of Portland, and Alex Kithas of Fort Worth; and great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Jonathan Dodd and Kayla Morin as well as many friends.
